GUINNESS IS GOOD FOR THE LIST...

Whilst sat outside the Crown & Anchor (Spurn again)sipping my pint of Guinness with Groucho, Statto and Brazil Nut I looked up to see a large raptor winging its way towards us from Sammy's Point direction. It turned out tobe a stonkin HONEY BUZZARD part of the mini influx happening over this weekend. It drifted passed the pub and off over towards the point(ish)...Guinness is good for you.
Earlier in the day Groucho and I had birded Flannelboro, best bird being a flyover Tripit. No sign of yesterdays Humungus Snipe (flushed by Statto!) or the flocks of Wrynecks. We were however plagued by heards of Sunday 'Scopac'ers who thronged the paths around the headland waiting for the Snipe to show!!! A bacon butty & coffee at the cafe were probably the highlights of a pooh mornings birding. So off to Spurn we went...
This place was deader than a dead man in deadsville, not a sausage so Groucho set of for cafe no.2 and I had a well earned kip.Be sides the awesome raptor found later while quenching our thirsts we also had an incredibly early Brambling and flyover Hawfinch in the C&A carpark. Not much else stirred and a Wryneck showing by the canal caused a brief bit of excitement. With not much else on show we decided to head off home......DOH!!!
Travelling at a very illegal speed passed grim 3rd division Leeds Statto informs us via Lee(son of the nicest man in birding) that a very probable PG Tips was about to be mist netted near Bluebell cafe...Grouchos face was a picture...
the rest as they say is history. Never mind they'll always be another...
***STOP PRESS***
Just heard the PGTips was bashed by the infamous schoolboy lister - TALIBAN DAN is no bird safe anymore? bring back the cane and dunces hats.
