Timed to perfection we arrive just in time for the easterlies to turn westerly and dip such delights as Lance, Sibe Thrush, Syke's Warbler....bugger! three most wanted catchup padders for yours truly. For a more coherant appraisal of our birding tour read Phils blog for an incoherant one heres some photo highlights and lowlights...........

Big Al tucks into a curry and six pints of heavy and we're only at Aberdeen Airport care of sh*te BA, thank god they've lost the franchise.

The last thing most Shetland megas see before they set foot on UnFair Isle...the awesomely viewtastic Sumburgh lighthouse. Its so high you can sometimes see Wales from its ramparts or is that whales...

Now heres a collectors item...1.Groucho sober and not swearing...2.Phil consulting a field guide!!!..3.Malc's wallet at the bar
a treble whammy.

ominous westerly weather a birders nightmare, time for another pint of heavy.

spot the tourist, at the end of the earth a place called Eshaness next stop the USA...
