ADAM ANT...

Cruising along the southern Nottingham By-pass yesterday around noon time my ever watchful eye caught sight of a large raptor coming towards us about 50ft up. Straightish broad wing with primaries obviously kinked backwards showing long fingers and a long tail with a slight fork. The bird was a concolourous dark brown(ish). Immediately I thought to myself..BLACK KITE...sherbert dabs!!!! We passed the bird at 50 mph+(I wasn't driving) and after so much Red Kite watching on the M40 I could of sworn it was a Black, I was virtually adamant. Never mind it'll never be seen again....1st pager message this morning reported a probable Black Kite over Rough Hill south of Nottingham in the afternoon. Double rats arse!! another one gets away.
