SPRING HAS SPRUNG...

At last after months and months of shite winter weather Spring has finally sprung . With it the first migrants have arrived...40+ Sand Martin over the mere on Friday with a singing (briefly) Chiffy by Bund Hide. One of last years? Redshanks has appeared with 5 Oycs also on Neumann's. The big winter coat actually came off today hopefully it will now stay off.
I did a quick scan of Marston Hall Farm area and one of the first birds I saw was a Tree Sparrow, a welcome addition to the patch list and one that's getting trickier every year. No Yellowhammers though but daddy Black Swan was in with the Canada/Greylag flock.
Don't think I'll be bringing up the tun before the end of March (did last year with Kittiwake!!) now on 88 and last year was on 97 by the 18th but fingers crossed for a brill Spring.
