NEWT TO THE PATCH

I was out with the camera last weekend, as you can see. Tried my hand at something else besides birds for a change. Above Greg found this newt crossing the Neumann's motorway near the Old Hide. Not a Great Crested as we thought but its more commoner friend the SMOOTH NEWT.
Down on the stream that runs from Forge Pool by the pipe bridge several dragonfly types were zooming around and it took a great deal of patience before I managed to get the next few shots.
