DIP AND GRIP

An eventful mornings twitching on the Patch when Greg (thats not Gregsy but t'other one) found a Waxwing !!near the Arboretum. Local patchers appeared from all directions even as far away as Sandbach but to no avail. Not to be out done Greg had another two fly over calling but still non of us mortals connected. I was actually down Moss Side at this time re-doing the plaque on my Dad's commemorative seat with my Mum so arrived later...and got rained off.
After watching the TyneWear derby (bit of a one sided affair what?) I ventured out again. Redwings, continental Blackbirds and Fieldfares were still present in good numbers most feeding on the plentiful supply of berries from the Yew trees in the Arboretum. Met up with Gregsy (Insomniac1) who'd just had two Brambling in the Lime trees by the Ranger's cabin. A leisurely stroll over and hey presto...Brambling gripped back on the chasing pack...sorted!
