A quick after work visit to Upper Moss Side feeders and hide produced 2 Willow Tit, 25 Tree Sparrow, Bullfinch,Buzzard and best of all a very obliging male Stonechat.Several thousand Lapwing and a few hundred Curlew were out on the exposed mud of the River Mersey.
Unfortunately there was no sign (in between hail showers) of the fem.Marsh Harrier seen over at Fiddlers Ferry (put out on the pager). This is a very rare bird for the Moss Side area and I personally have only seen one in 37 years!! here.
Tomorrow to escape my two nephews I'll be gulling with Statto at Richmond Bank gull fest with the prospect of a Moss Side tick or two (fingers crossed).
