Lesser Antillean Endemic Easter Fest...

Just had a week in the sunny Caribbean islands of St.Lucia and St.Vincent(day trip twitch)...beautiful.Staying at the wonderful Cocoa Palms Hotel in downtown Rodney Bay with Debs my wife and the Sutton family.Having gotten addicted to the Carib this was a must do to boost the list and get some needed chillout time.Of the 67 species we found 17 of them were Lesser Antillean Endemics such as the cracking Grey Trembler...

I managed a total of 33 lifers which included St.Lucia and St.Vincent Parrots both endemics,Masked Duck, three hummingbirds,Red-billed Tropicbird,Ruddy Quail-Dove,Grenada Flycatcher(St.Vincent),the stunning St.Lucia Warbler, Whistling Warbler(can't be a dendroica surely) and rarest of all and probably bird of the trip White Breasted Thrasher.

male Masked Duck

Scaly breasted Thrasher

Its spittin...

Away from the birds theres a great brand of coffee that would have been more apt for my sojourn to Indonesia last year...

A great trip and highly recommended especially if you've got a none birding spouse and there's still plenty of islands to go at...sorted!

and one final piccy cos its the only one I managed of a parrot...

St.Vincent Parrot how parrots should be seen ...Cage Free!!!
