The view from Bittern Hide towards Coward Reedbed was similar and nothing of an avian nature showed even though some freshly made fat balls were dangling from the bird table. Bob or is it Beatrice the Bittern didn't show yet again and this bugger could have me wasting endless hours of precious birding time just for that one glimpse. The vast majority of the wildfowl have gone as well...all the Shoveler, Teal, Tufties, Pochard, Canadas, Wigeon gone elsewhere...where? Pickmere? Rostherene? who knows. One good record though was 41 Grey Herons stood on the ice...beat that my friends.
The garden suffered as well with a good 17.5 cm (thats 7 inch in English) of snow falling over the 4th and 5th. 90% of my garden birds have done one and only Blakey the male Blackbird is now seen daily.
