BITTERNS BACK...

A pleasant stroll with pooch intow around the park this afternoon...a luxury that I've not been used to having just worked 19 days in a row. Well now thats all behind me having at last finished working in the Construction industry and moving on to pastures new...yipeee!!!!
First port of call Bittern Hide and a few piccies of the tit/nuthatch fest on the fat ladened feeders.
As the name implies I was scanning the far reedbed when up pops 'Basil' the Bittern, a welcome year tick and grip back on the chasing pack...sorted!

A good showing of waterfowl on the mere with 3 Pinkfeet in amongst the 600+ Canadas and 60 Greylags. Wigeon, Teal, Mallard, Gadwall and Tufted ducks but no sign of the reported 9!! Goosanders (another year tick to come?) seen earlier by exBT Dave. Water Rail heard yet again and 2 Kingfishers made up a good selection of patch padders.
