A couple of the wee flock of Waxwings (phone scoped) actually live on the Patch at Neumann's Flash this Sunday afternoon the 2nd of Jan. No extended ladder views required as the foursome showed very well to the appreciative patch locals. With the Bewick/Whooper fest still down Dark Lane and 'Beyonce' the Bittern (seen by Insomniac's better half) back in Coward Reedbed it was a great start to the birding year.Also kicking off on its sort of inaugral year is the 2011 Garden Year List...the feeders in the gardens (front and rear) etc have been stocked to bursting but theres sod all in my garden at the mo. Hung the preverbial turkey carcass up and not seen a sausage on it yet...feck! Still as they say its a marathon not a sprint......................
