Whilst partaking in a Sunday afternoon cuppa with Mum and Wifey out in the front garden a smallish pale blue butterfly landed on the ivy next to the patio and Mum who's also called Ivy...
a rather unexpected garden tick in the shape of  male HOLLY BLUE.

on the nearby Buddleia the Comma was still performing with several Large Whites.

As I was congratulating myself on gripping a Holly Blue for the garden a dragonfly zoomed in did a brief check of the front porch area then zapped stonking COMMON HAWKER yes you guessed a garden first (too fast for the camera)...awesome what! Its just a pity the birds aren't performing as well as the insects but hey I'm not complaining.
