RICHMOND BANKER'S

Groucho (aka Mr Payne) and Ronny picked me up from home and off we headed towards Cheshire's world famous gull emporium Richmond Bank ( a big mud bank in the middle of the River Mersey opposite Gatewarth Tip for those that don't know) in search of a goodie or two of the larus variety.

Looking eastwards towards the skyline of Warrington, 'The Bank' in the middle from the usual viewpoint on the old Gatewarth Tip now a place for dog emptiers and Penketh pedestrians.
Over the next couple of hours with help from Mr Bluenose Jason and gull phile Mark Garner (no relation to the ex vicar) we located one adult Yellow legged Gull a 1st winter Iceland Gull and a near adult Med Gull plus at least 3 'argentatus' Herring Gulls. No sign of any hoped for Caspo Gulls but theres always next time.

1st winter Iceland Gull

A different bird to the one I found from the Moore side a few weeks ago, which was a 2nd winter according to the experts of which I'm not one.

Spot the Med Gull
