Sunday morning stroll around Moss Side before the rain set in. Found a cracking male MERLIN sheltering from the wind at Upper Moss Side a very good year tick. Too far away and very windy for a decent piccy so the above record shot will suffice. Managed a creditable 51 species in three hours with good views of the obliging Lesser Spotted Woodpecker being chased by a Great Spot (probably jealous of all the attention the Lesser has been getting). That puts Moss Side two ahead in the yearlist comparison 93 plays 91. I would expect both to be in the 100s by the end of March....roll on Spring.
MOSS SIDE YL - 93
MARBURY YL - 91
