Saturday was rounded off nicely when Statto found 2 BARWITS on Neumann's with 46 yes 46 Whimbrel, thats my 3rd and 4th records ever and a quick grip back on Insomniac....sorted!
Sunday 6.30am and the layby is already full of patchers cars I manage to squeeze in and find the owners holding a 'Scopacs R us' appreciation society meeting on the Bund.
Up on Scarey yet another Lesser Whitethroat was rattling which makes it the best year ever on the patch for this enigmatic little skulker, will they stay for the day list? Also on the old tip a very approachable Wheatear was just waking up as I did a bit of image gathering.
On Neumann's the Black Swan and three cygnets were performing well, this time unhindered by the killer Mute thank heavens. Get it on your list (pending/insurance) chaps cos if we were in Holland now it would be on. Sedge Warbler singing by Scrapyard hide another welcome padder.
Thats 121 for the patch year list not counting White Wag and Black Swan so going along nicely me thinks. What will May bring ? ttfn.
ps. look whats in the post for next season, eat your hearts out City...
