THICK AND FAST...

Yes I could be talking about Mr Tevez but actually its the Summer migrants that are now flooding into the Country and hence all the various lists I've got going are being added to almost daily.
Moss Side got a boost on Sunday 19th with Whitethroat, Gropper, Wheatear and Garden Warbler all up by Halfway House.
The UFD inspired year list (no honestly I have not started one for the new job but it does sort of help) got me to deepest Oxfordshire on Wed 22nd and yet another new RSVP reserve tick namely Otmoor. What a cracking place full of the delights of Spring with Cettis, Wheatear, Reed and loads of Sedges (year tick), Lesser Throats, Whitethroats but no sign of the Ring necked Duck...bugger! I seem to have the kiss of death at the mo Lesser Scaup, Green winged Teal and Little Bunt all dipped cos they've either done one/elusive/hiding/not playing ball. Did the M40 route again and Red Kites again out did the Buteos plus one Marsh Harrier as well.

Marbury has been cruising along nicely with me finding most of the goodies:- Gropper, Lesser Throat at Witton Brook/Neumann's respectively. Garden Warblers now in song all over the place.
Twitch on tonight (Friday) when a text from Insomniac (at 6pm yes 6pm!) saying REDSTART!!!! Garden Warbler corner. I was there in minutes and followed the Curtin entourage across the park Malcs white pants glowing in the dimming light. After a frantic search thanks to Mr White Pants I just caught the arse end of the female Redstart as it was perched briefly on top a tree before flying away towards the mere. A search with Doc and later Fred didn't relocate the patch blocker....maybe tomorrow?
Scores on the doors:-
  • MARBURY PATCH LIFE 187
  • MCP YL 116
  • MOSS SIDE YL 104
  • CHESHIRE YL 158 (159 FP)
  • UK YL 194 (197 FP)
